A 55-point US GP Weekend may put Ferrari on the front foot

After a thrilling weekend at the Circuit of the Americas, Scuderia Ferrari walked away with 43 championship points from the Sunday US GP race. An impressive overtake in Lap 1 led to Leclerc taking first place, with his Spanish teammate, Carlos Sainz, joining him on the podium in second place.

The US Grand Prix was the holder of 1 of 6 sprint races in 2024, with Ferrari taking an impressive 2-4 in the Saturday sprint, bringing an additional 12 points to the leaderboard. After the weekend, Ferrari now sits 8 points behind Red Bull and 48 points behind Mclaren in the Constructor Standings. With 5 races left in the season, Ferrari has the opportunity to lead the board, returning the trophy to its Italian racing roots for the first time since 2008 with the former drivers, Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen.

Leclerc took to the microphone after the race had ended, saying “Everything worked out well”. He goes on to say, “We are targeting the title but it’s a long way to go…”. Ferrari did not bring any upgrades to Austin this weekend which leaves fans looking for a sign of better things to come for Ferrari, with plans to bring upgrades to the next race at the Mexico GP.
